SPONTANEOUS HIGH PRAISE

As we advance on the Gratitude Road towards the heaven, we must transition from complaining to SPONTANEOUS HIGH PRAISE. Spontaneous high praise is the password into the Presence and the mondus operandi of the throne room from which the Ancient of Days reigns.

‭Psalms 100:4 BSB‬

[4] Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and bless His name.

‭Revelation 5:11-14 BSB‬

[11] Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels and living creatures and elders encircling the throne, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands. [12] In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” [13] And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever!” [14] And the four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Heaven is characterized by outbursts of spontaneous high praise!

Hannah, the mother of Samuel broke into spontaneous high praise in ‭1 Samuel 2:1-10 BSB‬

[1] At that time Hannah prayed: “My heart rejoices in the Lord in whom my horn is exalted. My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, for I rejoice in Your salvation. [2] There is no one holy like the Lord. Indeed, there is no one besides You! And there is no Rock like our God. [3] Do not boast so proudly, or let arrogance come from your mouth, for the Lord is a God who knows, and by Him actions are weighed. [4] The bows of the mighty are broken, but the feeble are equipped with strength. [5] The well-fed hire themselves out for food, but the starving hunger no more. The barren woman gives birth to seven, but she who has many sons pines away. [6] The Lord brings death and gives life; He brings down to Sheol and raises up. [7] The Lord sends poverty and wealth; He humbles and He exalts. [8] He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap. He seats them among princes and bestows on them a throne of honor. For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s, and upon them He has set the world. [9] He guards the steps of His faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness; for by his own strength shall no man prevail. [10] Those who oppose the Lord will be shattered. He will thunder from heaven against them. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth and will give power to His king. He will exalt the horn of His anointed.”

What a powerful outburst of spontaneous high praise!

Mary, the mother of Jesus was another spontaneous high praiser. Listen to her high praise when she visited Elizabeth.

‭Luke 1:47-55 BSB‬

[47] and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! [48] For He has looked with favor on the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed. [49] For the Mighty One has done great things for me. Holy is His name. [50] His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation. [51] He has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their hearts. [52] He has brought down rulers from their thrones, but has exalted the humble. [53] He has filled the hungry with good things, but has sent the rich away empty. [54] He has helped His servant Israel, remembering to be merciful, [55] as He promised to our fathers, to Abraham and his descendants forever.”

What a powerful outburst of spontaneous high praise! This is deep deep worship of God.

Human beings on their own cannot generate such outbursts of spontaneous high praise because in the words of Jesus found in ‭John 3:6 BSB‬

[6] Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit.

Outbursts of spontaneous high praise are only birthed by the Spirit deep in the souls. Jesus taught in ‭John 7:37-39 BSB‬

[37] “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. [38] Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’” [39] He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. For the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.”

Outbursts of spontaneous high praise are expressions of deep worship. Jesus taught in ‭John 4:23-24 BSB‬

[23] But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. [24] God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”

Only by keeping company with the Holy Spirit, the Teacher of all truth, can we learn spontaneous high praise as we worship God.

“Spirit of the Living God, teach us spontaneous high praise as our response to the move of God in our lives in Jesus Name. Amen and Amen.”
